why i made this

Hello, I'm Kebron, and I built Cynoa myself as a senior in high school.

Like many immigrants, my parents came to the US after high school to make a better life for themselves and their future family. But, having gone to school in a different country and during a different time, they couldn't be much help when it became my turn to prepare for what I wanted to do post-graduation, making it all harder than it ever should have been. I noticed that many peers in similar situations, where the adults around them didn't have the experience to assist them, had the same struggles, sometimes even worse. All along the way, I desired one place I could go to get real answers to my specific, personal questions about what my journey was even meant to look like, a place that had the right information and didn't feel as awkward as talking to a random person. So I decided to meet that need, for myself and for everyone in the same spot, and built Cynoa.

Thinking of everyone who has it worse, students whose whole future can come down to something as arbitrary as whether someone they know happens to understand how the system works, I made a free, accessible, and accurate platform meant to be the guiding star they can steer by.
